Karen Lam, PhD


Karen is a biotechnology innovator with over 15 years of experience in therapeutics and diagnostics development and commercialization. She has extensive hands-on and managerial experience in the development of new health technologies from scientific, business, regulatory, and operations perspectives, having led many of such efforts in human health for the past 10 years. Karen obtained her PhD in Medical Genetics from the University of British Columbia (UBC; Vancouver, Canada). She is also Chief Business Officer of the non-profit research organization Centre of Excellence for the Prevention of Organ Failure (PROOF Centre) and Adjunct Professor in the UBC Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
