Casey Shannon, BSc, BSc

CHIEF SCIENTIFIC OFFICER, CO-FOUNDER

Casey is a data scientist and computational biologist with over 10 years of experience in the analysis of diverse, high-dimensional biological datasets. He has also worked with animal models in a wet-lab setting and brings both laboratory and computational experience to the team. Casey develops and applies machine learning approaches to identify informative features and generate diagnostic and prognostic tests from the vast amounts of data generated by high throughput molecular profiling platforms. He has numerous publications in the area of bioinformatics and systems biology, including methods papers and book chapters. He has also trained many graduate and undergraduate students in the field of bioinformatics, and holds BSc degrees in Cell Biology and Genetics, as well as Computer Science, from UBC.
